Is the lodge directly on Siwa Salt Lake?
Siwa Salt Lake Lodge stands directly beside Siwa Salt Lake, outside the town centre. Terraces and sitting areas line the lakeshore and garden. Plan transport for trips into Siwa; contact the lodge about taxi or shuttle arrangements.
Is breakfast included?
Breakfast is always included with your stay, in every room category.
How many guests can stay in each room?
Panorama Room: up to 2 guests. Suite: up to 3 guests. Standard Room: up to 2 guests.
What beds are in the Standard Room?
Standard Room has 2 single beds or one double bed. Contact the lodge about your preferred arrangement.
Does the lodge have a hot spring?
Yes. Our natural hot spring is fed by the same deep well that supplies naturally hot water directly to the showers, from more than 1,000 metres beneath the desert.
Can you arrange a taxi or transfer?
Contact the lodge to arrange a taxi or discuss a shuttle. Confirm the route, collection point, time and price before travelling.
Can guests use the barbecue facilities?
The barbecue facilities are free for guests to use. A BBQ gathering can be organised on request; agree food, arrangements and any charges with the lodge beforehand.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: 14:00–21:00. Check-out: 07:00–11:00. All times are local to Siwa. Contact the lodge to discuss arrival outside these hours.
Is the lake beside the lodge the same as Siwa’s turquoise salt pools?
The lakeshore at Siwa Salt Lake Lodge, the lodge’s natural hot spring and Siwa’s turquoise salt pools are separate experiences. The lake is the setting for our terraces and sitting areas; visits to the salt pools are outings beyond the lodge. Ask the team about transport, access and current conditions.
Who should I contact about specific room or arrival requirements?
Please contact the lodge before travelling with any particular requirements, including access needs or arrival outside the usual check-in period. The team can discuss the arrangements for your stay.
Which rooms have lake views?
Panorama Room (up to 2 guests) and Suite (up to 3 guests) have lake views. Compare the room photographs and descriptions to choose your setting by the lake or garden.
Does a direct booking enquiry confirm my reservation?
Sending an enquiry does not confirm a reservation. Send your room choice, dates and guest count; Siwa Salt Lake Lodge will confirm availability and the final price by email. Breakfast is included, and no payment is required to send an enquiry.
Who designed Siwa Salt Lake Lodge?
Salama is the owner and artist behind Siwa Salt Lake Lodge. He designed the lodge’s architecture himself, bringing his own creative vision to this place on the lakeshore.
How does the lodge care for the environment?
Care for the oasis shapes everyday life at the lodge. We generate our own solar electricity, draw on the natural warmth of our deep well and separate waste for recycling.
How are the rooms kept cool?
The lodge's distinctive architecture, stone and building materials help keep the rooms naturally cool. Every room also has a fan for added comfort.
Is electricity available at night and throughout the year?
The lodge is fully self-sufficient in electricity, powered by our own solar-energy system. Electricity is available around the clock, day and night, throughout summer and winter.
Are taxes, cleaning and other fees included?

What are the cancellation terms for a confirmed booking?
For confirmed bookings, cancellation is free up to 14 days before check-in, or within 24 hours after booking. Outside these free-cancellation windows, the first night's room rate is charged. If you do not arrive (a no-show), the full booking amount is charged. Sending an enquiry through this website does not confirm a booking; the lodge will confirm your reservation and its terms directly with you.
